Karma

Note to Maureen Child--Look I'm blogging! Maureen has been nagging, uh, reminding me to blog. Happy Maureen?

So Karma.

A couple blogs ago I thought I was very clever by mentioning that I can do without a lot of electronics, except my computer and coffeemaker. Yesterday, my mouse died and this morning my coffeemaker died.

Karma? Is there such a thing as Smart Ass Karma? Because I think I have it!

Karma happens. I know it does. Once I couldn't imagine how authors wrote the same characters in a series of books. Then the first book I sold turned into a series.

Once, I wasn't a big fan of anthologies, now I'm working on a story for a second anthology.

I don't know if that's Karma, so much, as evolution.

See Maureen? This is why I don't blog everyday...I get side tracked.

Hey, let's talk about Maureen Child! I first met Maureen (she won't remember this) when she was signing books at the local RWA chapter we both belonged to. I was unpublished and green as they come, while she was (and still is) a well known author. I bought one of her historical books and she signed it. I was thrilled to death (Hey, I have a book titled Thrilled to Death? Coincidence or Karma?). Anyhow, I got up the nerve to actually TALK to Maureen while she signed my book. She was NICE and FUNNY. I was pretty much star struck.

Years later, after I published, I caught up to Maureen as we were walking into a meeting and we were chatting. And it struck me that somewhere along the way I became casual friends with Maureen Child!

Now she nags, umm, reminds me to blog :-) That's probably not Karma, but it is a reminder that sometimes, life can be pretty cool.

It could have been Death by Chocolate: Coincidence or Caramel?

Oh, plus I am thinking of changing my pix. If I do, do you want my witch?

Oh yes, Cele, I would love your witch! Let me know if you change and I'll figure out how to capture your witch. (Don't tell Dana, she's want the witch too!)

You have a real knack for titles!
