MIA

Missing in Action. Sure I could be referring to me since I haven't been blogging lately. Mostly because I am having trouble with Blogger. It's driving me crazy.

Or we could take the "in" out of Missing In Action and we're talking about my current book.

Remember that old, old, OLD commercial, "WHERE'S THE BEEF?"

Picture me, screaming at my characters, "WHERE'S THE ACTION? For crying out loud, will you people DO SOMETHING?"

Any one have suggestions of some action scenes for my characters, Luke and Ivy?

Jen......one of my favorites when everything slows down is, WHEN IN DOUBT, BURN DOWN THE TOWN.

Meaning, LOL, create an emergency. Have the building they're in catch fire. Or a car crash into it.

When your characters have to deal with an emergency, it really gives you insight into who they really are. Plus...action.

Ummm, no. Sorry, wish I could be a bigger help. Wishing you all the best though.

P.S. let me know if the yelling at the characters thing works out, I might give it a try. :)

how about creating a situation where they have to fight for a goal, something similar to a scavenger hunt.

Deb once gave this piece of advice on our writing list....

Make the character do something they absolutely would not do. In other words place them out of character and deal with it.

Of course I couldn't write a readable book if my life depended on it...which is why I rely on you.

Maureen, thanks, I can start a fire!

Ktzmom, LOL! It's like yelling at the kids, not all that effective!

Dru, I swear when I first read your asnwer, I thought it said, "Fight for a goat!" Which was kind of interesting but a "goal" makes a lot more sense!

Cele, another good suggestion! Is that Deb from Murder She Writes?

Just poppin' in to say hi.

And I loved Maureen's fire idea too. I'm tucking it away the next time I'm stuck.

Happy arsoning!

Yeah, I think that is who it is from. She posted it a long time ago on The Write List.

Hi Dana, glad you popped in, just don't set anything fire, LOL!

Thanks, Cele, I was guessing it was that Deb.
