Drawing at Brava Authors and Other Chit Chat

I'm blogging over at Brava Authors today. If you'd like to get into a drawing for an advance copy (uncorrected proof) of SUN, SAND, SEX Anthology go to my blog here and submit a comment. I'm picking a winner on Saturday morning.

On the synopsis front, I finished it and sent it to my agent for her thoughts. I love the concept, but I'm not sure if the synopsis really reflects what's in my head. But that is why I have an agent :-) She's honest and I really appreciate that.

In other news, I think JR Ward may be ruining me for other paranormal books. I read one that just didn't interest me much at all. The character had sex with everyone because she's part wolf. YAWN. The sex wasn't even interesting to me. I blame this on JR WARD. I've fall hard for the brotherhood!

What about you? Have you read books you loved so much, the next few books just couldn't live up to the experience?

My problem is the exact opposite. I read a book that is excellent, it makes me devour books. A crappy read puts me off books for months.

Oh yeah, Cele, I've done that too! Sometimes it seems like I get into a slump where every book is disappointing for a while.

JR Ward is the best paranormal author I've ever read, but I'm not sure what that says cause I normally don't read paranormal, although, I do like Maureen Child.

Sara Paretsky and Sue Grafton did that to me for a while with their female P.I. series. I would try to read other P.I. books and just couldn't get over much they WERE NOT like these other books.

Hey, ktzmom! Thank you!! I was just on Jen's JR blog commenting.. late, naturally.

Jen...JR is definitely spoiling me for other paranormal stories. She's just got this fabulous mythology that sucked me in.

I read JD Robb, then can't read another mystery for awhile because her characters are so strong....
