Random Stuff

I'm working on a synopsis. I've changed it five times. FIVE FREAKING TIMES. I swear I could have written WAR AND PEACE by now. Sigh...

I'm going to appear at LITERARY ORANGE on April 21st. It's a full day conference with several authors in panel discussions, lunch and book signings at the Hyatt Regency in Orange County. If you'd like more info, go here.

Okay I read LOVER REVEALED by JR Ward. Like all her Brotherhood books, I had to stop my life to read it. And I am her biggest fan. However, this book just didn't have the same magic as the other books. I loved some elements, I'm still love the brotherhood, but something was just missing for me. Anyone else read it? What do you think?

I am waiting for the next book! I rarely follow series like this from book one. I'm ALWAYS late to the game.

Okay back to boring myself with my Rinse and Repeat Synopsis Action. Ugh.

Right there with you on the latest JR........I think it was Marissa, the big weenie...=)

And oooh. Speaking somewhere, Jen???

Marissa seemed to run hot and cold. I'm thinking Rahv (how to spell him--the guy with the cane?) he'd have heated her up.

I'm on the panel LOVE BETWEEN THE PAGES. I should have put more info up, huh? Sheesh, I need a PR team. Like Mayor Villaraigosa's PR team--that guy gets face time on the news for the stupidest stuff. Who me? Sidetracked?

Uh, yeah, I'm speaking...

Before I start complaining about the latest Brotherhood book, I'd just like to go on record saying I absolutely LOVE this series.

With that being said. . .I like Marissa, I think her character could really grow into something magnificient. I thought it was really a great part of the book when she stood up for her vote at the council meeting thing.

I thought the thing with Butch and V and the slightly (or extremely) homosexual suggestion there was a little out of left field. Have I been missing something? I have a REALLY hard time believing either one of these guys have homosexual tendencies. Maybe it's just me. . .

Do either one of you really understand the whole sympath thing?

ktzmom--I really agree about the series--I love it. I put my life on hold to read this last book. So it's more a matter of degrees of loving the books, than complaints, and I'm getting the same feeling from you!

But I'm pretty much baffled by the same things you are. The sympath (Butch's part, right?) is that Butch holds dark by the thing he does with the bad guys) don't really want to give it away if someone hasn't read it) and V's "light" is the balance that keeps him from going dark. Or something...okay I didn't quite get it!

The homosexual stuff. I'm not sure it was supposed to by homosexual, I think it was more two halves of a whole and it came off homeosexual. But I could be way wrong on this. And I think V "feels" Butch's sexual love of Marissa and sort of covets it even if he doesn't understand it.

Ok I am really rambling here!

I agree, definitely a degree of loving each book. I hooked a co-worker on these books and now we both anxiously await the next release.

The Sympath is Rehvenge (did I spell that right?) He's the one who is all drugged up so he can't feel anything. What's that all about?

The thing about Butch and the darkness freaked me out a little bit at first. Once I got to the end and understood it I think it's a great idea.

The only thing that concerns me is eventually we're going to run out of brothers . . .

Ktzmom--okay I just have to smack myself. Of course it's Rehvenge! I am intrigued by him, but as far as I know, JR hasn't really explained what he is. Just little hints, like the shots he takes to control his dark side. I can't wait to find out!

popping back on here....LATE... to say, I'm with you, ktzmom! I didn't get all of the homosexual leanings in the book. Neither one of them struck me as at all gay... so where'd that come from??

And yes, loved Marissa's standing up at the vote. That was great. And her learning to do things with her life. But she was so wishy washy, it got tiring for me. And maybe it was the 300 year old virgin thing that was hard to deal with. She didn't know ANYTHING. Was she a vampire NUN?
