Sam Goes To Germany...
Hey I'm Back! I had a minor medical procedure done (I'm absolutely fine), plus my youngest son graduated high school and somehow, blogging just didn't happen.
Okay, so the good news is that my publisher has sold the German rights to BATTERIES REQUIRED. So far, they've bought the first four books in the series, so I guess they like Samantha Shaw in Germany. Pretty cool! I find these things out when I get a check in the mail. I love when I get checks in the mail :-)
I seem to have to be reminded time and again that I'm not superwoman. I had the medical thing done and scheduled a big pool party celebrating my son, and two of his cousins, graduations 12 days later. I thought I'd bounce back like superwoman.
Didn't happen. Evidently I heal like an average, mortal woman. Bummer.
However, my two sister-in-laws figured out quickly that I wasn't up to par and really pitched in to bring a ton of food and do a lot of the work at the party. I might not be superwoman (still bummed) but I do have a great family.
During the pool party, my three sons managed to splash me dripping wet once, but I eluded them the next three times. That makes me the winner right? Boys-1 and Mom-3. I've explained this to them but they just laugh. Boys. Gotta love 'em! And naturally their dad is the one who put them up to all this evil behavior.
Lastly, my oldest son loaned us his DVDs for the first season of 24. I'm getting hooked! Sure, I'm three years behind everyone else, but better late than never!
Now tell me what's going on in you all? Read any good books? Seen any good movies?

Oh gracious I feel terrible. I haven't read a book in months, I have become totally hooked on Ice Road Truckers, and am buried up to my elbows in compost and blogging. :)
I'm glad you're feeling better.
Cele, blogging can really suck up time! I've slowed down on my reading too. I need to go get some new books!
I have no idea what Ice Road Truckers is--a TV show? Just showing my ignorance here!
Ice Road Truckers is a show about truck drivers who drive on roads made of ice and how they risk their lives every time they get into their trucks. I believe it's on the History Channel. They keep showing previews of it at the Harkin's movie theaters out here.
I'm very excited, I just got the new Evanovich book, number 13. I started it last night and so far am loving it. I just finished reading "When She's Bad" by Leanne Banks. It was good, I liked it but am still anxiously awaiting the next JR Ward book. :)
I just finished Lean Mean Thirteen by Janet Evanovich and Double Take by Catherine Coulter and I'm presently reading 6th Target by James Patterson. I love to read.
I'm glad that you're feeling better and congrats to your youngest son on completing high school.
ktzmom, thanks for the explanation of Ice Road Truckers. I've totally missed out on that. My son watches the history channel all the time so he probably knows about it.
I haven't read Evanvich in a while. Last time was on an airplane, probably last year. If 13 is that good, I'll have to get it.
Dru, you're reading 13 too! Now I feel like I'm missing out :-)
Thanks, I am feeling better and hope to be back to normal soon.
It's weird to realize all my kids are out of high school now. Man, I'm getting old, LOL!
Jen, so glad you're up and moving again and hey, you'll always be Wonder Woman to me!!
I too just finished Lean Mean Thirteen.....love those books!
And oooh. You're gonna love 24! Our son got us hooked on that show!
Maureen, we are hooked on 24 now! However I just found out my son's real evil plot in loaning us season one--he figured we'd get hooked and buy the remaining seasons, then he could borrow them. LOL!
Thanks I am feeling better, but I wish I healed like when I was 20!
