Finished LOVER UNBOUND
I finished LOVER UNBOUND over the weekend. I had to think about what I wanted to say. So...
JR Ward has created an amazing world and brought us deeply into the lives of the brothers. Over the course of the books, we really feel like we know them. Intimately.
I think LOVER UNBOUND has created more controversy than the others because of that. We all think we know how Vishous's story should be told.
Oh man, IF ONLY I COULD DO THAT! I'd be a fantastic author too!
But, for me, Vishous's story didn't end in a way I envisioned for him. And I'd have liked to see some more follow through on threads in the book.
I'll still read Phury's book, probably very quickly. But I see concerns there too. Still, we shall see. Ward in an incredibly talented storyteller, and her stories are fascinating.
Anyone else read it? Thoughts?

She might frustrate me with some of her choices, but those characters are so vivid and unforgetable.
She had me at Wrath..
Me too, Laura! Wrath is still my favorite just because he was my first :-)
I just finished LOVER UNBOUND this weekend and it was as I expected... breathtaking! But it was also a lot deeper, emotionally, that I was expecting? Why? I have no idea...especially considering my first BDB story was Zsadist's in LOVER AWAKENED. Emotional, hoo yah.
Intellectually I knew that Vishous' story was going to be a real heart tugger, but the reality was so much more than I had thought it would be... J.R. / Jessica has done it again... and my fave guy?? Hard to pick one, but Rhage has always gotten to me a little more ~ but then there's Butch....
Kathy, you're a Rhage girl, huh? Cool, cuz Wrath is mine, LOL!
You're right that this book was a little deeper with emotional backstory.
But where were the lessors?
Scared of Butch!! LOL
Now that he can suck them up and take away a little more of the Omega's power lesser by lesser, they've got some major problems ~ Yippee!
But I'm pretty sure that we'll be hearing a lot more about them.. the Omega's not going to just fold up his tent and go away.. that'd be great for the Brotherhood, but not so much for us BDB fans! *grin* And I really, Really, REALLY want the other stories that Jessica's got stirring in her mind!

Gotta agree, Jen. This is the first of the books that I didn't finish and go immediately back to the beginning and reread it.
Though the world was still fabulous and the guys are amazing, Zsadist is my favorite, I felt a little let down with this one. There was no sense of danger here. There were no big battles, no danger from the sun, and too many threads left dangling.
Also, was I the only one thinking that a heroine named Jane would maybe turn out to be Butch's sister? Why name this character Jane if there isn't going to be a payoff?
Nope, I'll read Phury's cuz frankly, I'm hooked. But this one just didn't have the same emotional depth for me that the others have.
Maureen, I know you're another Z-chick, LOL! I do think Z has grown the most of all the guys. I agree there wasn't as much tension or sense of impending dangers in this one.
