Karma
What's your Karma? Do you believe in Karma?
I believe in it more and more. There are different believe systems of Karma, mine is pretty simple...
"What Comes Around Goes Around." And "Action Breeds Action."
For instance, a friend just spent 90 minutes on the phone with me, helping me talk about some revision notes from my editor. That's 90 minutes out of her writing time. Why? Hopefully because I do it for her. But I don't do it so that I can get a "return," I do it because I love her work, admire her talent and love to talk about writing.
Last weekend, another friend, went over an entire proposal for me. Just because I asked her to. It's a big deal to me. I thanked her repeatedly. She said I've done it for her, so she was happy to do it. But guess what? When I looked at her stuff, I wanted to do it! I wasn't looking for a return.
I've also NOT done things I wish I had. With my first book, I donated books, and critiques, etc to every charity thing that came around. Somewhere along the line I stopped. I'm not sure why, probably exhaustion. It just dawned on me last night when I was cleaning out some old files and found all the stuff I used to do. I should do more--not for Karma but because I want to.
So I'd say my Karma can use a little work, and that Karma really is a work in progress anyway. Overall, I'm probably not too bad on the Karma scale.
What about you?

I believe in Karma, and figure if Karma doesn't hit you in this life, it'll hit you double in your next.
A lot of times I feel (hmmm say at WORK) I give extra good to my fellow employees and seem to be on the short end of the good Karma backattcha end of things. But if there is a side of Karma to be short on, it's the good backattcha end of things.
Did that make any sense?
Hey Cele, I would think you have excellent Karma! I know you do a lot to help others. I've always thought that, with Karma, we don't always see the "other side" or "payback" but to those who wrong us. If that makes sense...
I'd like to think my Karma's in good shape, LOL!! Suppose I'll find out eventually! But YOUR Karma, Jen, is in excellent shape. You're one of the nicest people I've ever known...
How's the fire lookin'???
Oh, yeah. did I ever tell you I have a real thing for Tigers?? LOVE that picture!
Hey Maureen...I picked that picture of the tiger just because I liked it. It really has nothing to do with Karma!
Thanks for saying that about my Karna, but so often, I'm not as nice as I could me. Way too often. But you are always generous and helpful. Plus, you must get extra credid Karma for being so funny!
