Who Else is Skippy Out There?

I'm a Skippy girl. Jiff tastes like something out of the toilet tank.

I'm talking peanut butter of course.

Growing up, I hardly ever ate peanut butter. I didn't like it because one day at lunch during school, I saw take a boy take a big bite of his peanut butter and jelly sandwich WITH A BIG ASS FLY ON IT.

Ugh.

Still makes me nauseous.

I just know that had to be Jiff peanut butter, not Skippy! So eventually I was able to once again eat peanut butter. But it has to be Skippy.

So what about you all? Jiff or Skippy?

iPod Worthy

Anyone ever see that Seinfeld episode "Sponge Worthy?" You know, when Elaine wanted to make sure a man was worth using one of her precious sponges?

That's how I feel about my iPod! I got a new iPod for my birthday. I love it! Hubby gave me an iTunes gift card for $15.00 to get started. So that means I get to pick about 15 songs.

I've spent HOURS on iTunes trying to decide what songs are iPod worthy.

Then my son gave me a $25.00 gift card.

But I'm STILL AGONIZING! Actually it's a lot of fun and an excellent way to waste away hours and hours of writing time (Umm, if you're my agent or editor, I'm only kidding!)

So I have about 18 songs now. I'm making progress. I totally blew my son away when he looked in my iPod and saw that I had Snow Patrol's CHASING CARS. He just couldn't believe I had anything that cool in my iPod. I cracked up! I told him I was going to go home and put one of his favorite bands, Green Day in there.

A sample of the songs I have so far:
CHASING CARS by Snow Patrol
YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL by James Blunt
HOW TO SAVE A LIFE by The Frey
LAST KISS by Pearl Jam
BIG GIRLS DON'T CRY by Fergie

As you can see, my taste is a little eclectic.

Most embarrassing song so far? THE LION SLEEPS TONIGHT by The Tokens. Oh come on! How can anyone listen to that song and not smile?

Biggest worry with my new iPod? Well I listen to it when I walk SOME mornings, then I come in and keep listening while I clean the kitchen, etc. I just KNOW my son is going to get up, and I won't hear him, and he'll catch me dancing around the kitchen singing!

So do you all have an iPod? What songs do you have? Come on, fess up, what's your most embarrassing song in your iPod?

People Can See You!

You know that old joke--just because you're paranoid doesn't mean someone's not watching you?

I came across this Chey McCray's blog this morning. The essences of the blog is that published and unpublished authors should be careful because editors and agents can and do read blogs.

No really?

Uh, yes really. My own edtior has told me stuff that she's run across. Why are people surprised? Editors and Agents READ. It's what they do! And they are very good at research so when they are looking at buying a book, what would stop them from looking at the author's website and/or blog?

This isn't a surprise to you all, right?

So then it should follow that some readers are also reading blogs. If authors are badmouthing others, won't it tick off readers? It was annoy me. And yep, I have stopped reading one or two authors becasue I found out more than I wanted to know by reading their blogs.

Have you?

On the other hand, I have found news authors from blogs, the first one that springs to mind is Jill Shalvis.

Oh, and in a comment that has nothing to do with this blog, yesterday was a major sucky day and by evening, I just needed a break. I started rereading Maureen Child's MORE THAN FIENDS. You have to know that I generally don't reread books, but I am so glad I did with this book! It's so damn funny! If you haven't bought this book yet, what are you waiting for?
