There's Something VERY Wrong

I'm sitting at my computer, I'm one of the last desk top users. I have a huge (as in HUGE) oak desk with a keyboard that slides out to pretty much rest on my thighs.

Umm...it seems to be a tighter fit.

And my stomach...seems to be a little more, shall we say rotund?

This is just WRONG. So I had a few cookies.

And chocolate turtles (yum!)

And peanut butter balls.

And my sister gave me an entire box of truffles.

Not to mention all the eating out. Because my husband suddenly loves to eat out. Which is totally unfair because he's slim. Always has been. Me? I walk by the chocolate chips in the grocery story, and leap onto my thighs by some form of osmosis.

So. Not. FAIR!!! This is just wrong. Don't you think so?

I do think this is highly unfair. My second husband use to ask me to bake cakes, he'd eat them and I'd gain the weight. NOT FAIR.

Now I am middle aged, menopausal and fat. I lost ten pounds following Karin's blog and then everyone stopped, I've not gained back the weight, but would please someone start something and inspire me again? please?

Cele you lost and kept ten pounds off? That's fantastic! We should think about doing something like Karin's Diet again.

I've had this idea to overhaul this blog for, umm, like years, and one of the categories would include TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE or ALL THE LIES THE TELL US. Stuff like the diet crap advertised on TV that is just flat lies...the laughs we could have making fun of them.

And all the dumb lawsuits out there--another category.

But I haven't pulled it together because I am LAZY JEN.

Why is it that men can eat almost anything and not gain a stitch of pounds. It's so not fair.

I'm still using a desktop although right now I'm looking at buying laptop for my next computer purchase.

Totally not fair Drew! I also have three sons who eat whatever they want.

I hope you get your laptop. I want it all--a new desktop and new laptop but that's not going to happen, at least not for a while.

LOL!

I get up at 5:30 to walk four miles in the brutal cold. Every day. Even Sunday. Sometimes I do another four miles at night. Not so much for exercise but to get away from four kids for an hour so I can THINK. I eat mostly vegan (occasional sushi). No sweets. No fats. I just don't like them. But I look in the mirror . . . and think, "Well, Jesus H. Christ, when the hell did I get the body of a woman whose had four kids? . . . Oh, YEAH, it was having them. Including that baby after 40." Not fair at all. However, my husband is chubby, being kind there, and so . . . he still chases me like he's a 16-year-old wanting a prom date . . . and doesn't seem to notice, so I'm lucky there. ;-)
