Writing and Gymnastics
I'm working now, writing as many pages a day as I can.I could really use this line-editing cat!
But for now, I'm writing crappy pages and moving on. I'm testing myself to see if I can write my first draft straight through. I am going to revise anyway, so I need to just keep going.
Have you all been watching the Olympics? I've watched very little. I tried to watch women's gymnastics the other night but I was getting a sore neck from cringing. Normally, I love watching gymnastics, but those poor girls were just having a bad night. I found myself so tense when made mistakes, and I felt so badly for them, that I finally just turned off the TV and went to bed.
Anyone else ever feel like that? Or is it just me?
To bring this back to writing, I used to cringe and feel for my characters when they made mistakes. Now? BWHAHAHAHA!!!! Sometimes, I actually laugh manically and say, "That's what you get! Teach you to make writing this story difficult!" Hmm, perhaps my characters are just a little too real to me???

I've been enjoying the Olympics although it keeps me up longer at night and then I have to drag myself to work.
What are you writing? Is this the second book in the series?
Hey, I can use that cat, too!
Yeah, it's tough to watch any team or athlete become eliminated when you know how hard they've worked to get there, what they've sacrificed, what their families have sacrificed. I feel for all of them. And here I am...I can't even run down the block without my lungs burning or my legs buckling! LOL
I think I've watched less than an hour of Olympic coverage. I remember watching part of a bike race and some swimming. I have political hard feelings over this one, but I don't know if that is what is keeping me from watching or just my general apathy on TV.
Dru, I tried to watch last night and just gave up. Between the commercials and endless filler I find myself flipping channels and getting interested in something else.
I'm working ont he second book in the witch/witch hunter series.
Michele, you said it so much better than I did! I hate watching people lose their dreams like that.
I can't think of any reason I'd actually run down the street :-) But I'm guessing my lungs would burn too!
Cele, I understand your feelings, both the political aspect and the apathy. I tune out the politics when I get involved in something like watching gymnastics.
Then they cut to a political interview and I'm tossed out of the moment. Enough said :-)
I can't think of any reason I'd actually run down the street :-)
Jen, I've heard strange and fantastic tales of people who like to do that for health reasons... I don't get it either. :-)
LOL Michele! Were you in the Land of Nike when you heard that? There are rumors that the people of that land have been brainwashed into believing sweat is good.
Yeah, those are the same ones who believe that sweating neon-colored Gatorade is a good thing. Yuck.
Ewww, Michele, they must be stopped! We should begin a campaign to free thoses misguided creatures!
