A Few Pom Poms Short...
Did you all hear the story about the 33 year old mother who stole her daughter's identity so she could go back to high school and be a cheerleader?
Does this look like a high school cheerleader to you?

First off, SERIOUSLY? No one noticed this woman wasn't high school age? Okay, let's put a 16 year old girl and a 33 year old woman together in a cheerleading tryout and NO ONE NOTICED THE DIFFERENCE??? I think the judges need glasses, laser surgery and perhaps they need a nice stay at a drug clinic, because I think I would have noticed.
But the most incredible, unbelievable part for me? Why would anyone want to go back to high school?
Okay, maybe it's just me. I hated high school. I graduated a year early at 16 to get out of high school and I have never looked back. Wanting to go back to high school at 33 suggests this woman is a few pom poms short, or put more delicately, she's nuts. She has to be. Why would anyone want to go back to high school?
Not me! Would you all go back to high school if you had the chance?

I HATED, HATED, HATED high school. During my senior year we had an exchange student from Japan stay with us for the year and he was one of the most popular kids in school! He was on the track team and helped them win the state championship...a very popular kid, and, of course, brilliant. When the kids from the sports teams and the cheerleaders found out he was staying with my family they were like...Seriously?
I could not WAIT to get out of high school and join the adult world--mature people who didn't throw food at you. But then I worked for Disney and had adults throwing stuff at me too, so I couldn't win. :-)
Wow. I went on a rant. Sorry. What were we talking about?
Oh, by the way, I had nothing against the guy who stayed with us! I loved him like a brother! It's the other h.s. school students...boo.
I still miss Kenichi. :-)
Michele, I so hear you on high school! But that's so cool that your family hosted an exchange student. Do you still stay in contact with him?
I personally loved your rant! And WHY would anyone want to go back to high school? It has to be an obvious sign of mental illness!
He returned to CA a couple of times, even brought his wife once. I know once he was over here because he was in the wedding of someone from his high school track team! LOL (told you he was popular!). I haven't heard from him in several years, though...But, I think maybe my parents still get a letter from his parents around Christmas.
For a few years, we hosted students for a couple weeks during the year, usually spring break. Most of them were from Europe and we had such a great time taking them to all the touristy sights around Southern California and to the beach. Kenichi was the only one who stayed with us for the entire year. Boy, was he a changed person when he left! The laid-back California lifestyle definitely rubbed off on him...totally funny.
Wow, Michele, he must have been popular! Sounds like your family was fortunate to have him for the year.
And who wouldn't take to the California laid back lifestyle?
Are there people who enjoyed high school? Ugh, it was a hideous experience with a few highlights and people I will keep my whole life. The one thing I like about the adult world is you can see how bad high school was and get over it. But go back? Insanity.
I'm with you, Cele! My oldest son really enjoyed high schoo, I'll have to ask him if he'd want to go back. I doubt it though, I think he likes his life now even better.
Who would wantto endure all those cliches and emtional roller coasters again?
It's really too bad I can't spell school (in the answer to Cele above)...sheesh maybe I did graduate too early!
