Jennifer Aniston or Millionaire?

I need to start thinking about a new website for next year (2009) when BLOOD MAGIC the first in my witch hunter series comes out.

I so don't want to think about that.

I'd much rather think about a promo clip I heard on the news yesterday morning that went something like, "Why most women don't want to look like Jennifer Aniston."

HUH???? WHAT????

I'd LOVE to look like Jennifer Aniston!

This morning I researched this tantalizing question (Procrastination anyone?) and discovered it was a trick. The poll asked women if they'd like to have a body like Jennifer Aniston or be a millionaire.

Oh. Got it. I'd totally want the millions. Hand it over!

Apparently this troubled some people:

Although every woman has her own answer to the question and reasons for it, some health care professionals are concerned about the survey's results.

They worried that people would choose wealth over health or something.

Umm...DUH. And because I am a giving person and want these very troubled people to be able to sleep at night, I will explain the reasoning.

IF I WAS A MILLIONAIRE THEN I WOULDN'T HAVE TO WORK, WORRY AND DO ENDLESS CHORES ALL THE TIME AND I'D HAVE PLENTY OF TIME TO DEVOTE TO DIET, EXERCISE AND HEALTH!!!

Sheesh, it's so simple.

But still I'd love to look like Jennifer Aniston!

What about you? Would you rather looking like Jennifer Aniston or be a millionaire?

I Need Music

I need suggestions for my beloved iPod to listen to while working on my witches and witch hunters.

The witches are a little new agey (I think--I'm not good at categorizing music. I'm more of a "I like what I like" person). Think Annie Lennox's WHY. Although some of the witches might be totally rock or alternative...wait I'm confusing myself. I do that a lot while working on a book.

The witch hunters are kick ass. They thrive on Chuck Norris jokes. I'm thinking Bruce Springsteen's BORN TO RUN.

Any suggestions?

There's Something VERY Wrong

I'm sitting at my computer, I'm one of the last desk top users. I have a huge (as in HUGE) oak desk with a keyboard that slides out to pretty much rest on my thighs.

Umm...it seems to be a tighter fit.

And my stomach...seems to be a little more, shall we say rotund?

This is just WRONG. So I had a few cookies.

And chocolate turtles (yum!)

And peanut butter balls.

And my sister gave me an entire box of truffles.

Not to mention all the eating out. Because my husband suddenly loves to eat out. Which is totally unfair because he's slim. Always has been. Me? I walk by the chocolate chips in the grocery story, and leap onto my thighs by some form of osmosis.

So. Not. FAIR!!! This is just wrong. Don't you think so?

Happy New Years!

Can you believe it's 2008?

Okay, so I have to brag, and it's not even about my books. I kept a New Years Resolution from last year. I decided to add walking to my (insert laughing here) workout routine. I've kept my resolution! How astonishing.

Any diet resolution I've ever made died at the first sign of the a cookie, candy or cake I encountered.

And speaking of lack of will power--I can't believe how much junk I've eaten in the last two weeks. I need a 12 Step program to get off the sugar!

Now onto my failure--regular blogging and participating in lists. The lists are a lost cause. I just don't have the stamina to keep up with the lists I'm on. I really don't even read them any more. Mostly due to time, and I have learned to save my emotional energy for writing. I will try to be better at blogging though.

Something I really don't talk about a lot on this blog is the book I'm working on. It's mostly superstition. The process of getting what's in my head onto paper has an element of magic that I am truly afraid to analyze too much, or mess with. Every time I think I know EXACTLY how to write a book, something happens to slap me back to reality. So while I occasionally give updates, they are mostly surface things. I just don't want to piss off the process or my characters :-)

Back to New Years...do you make resolutions? Do you keep them? Did you get your fill of junk food?

BLOOD MAGIC
